PET URINE & ODOUR REMOVAL
DO YOU HAVE PET ODOURS OR STAINS ON YOUR CARPET?
Pets can certainly enrich our lives and they are often an important part of everyday family life. However, while you may want them around you as much as possible, you don’t really want those little ‘accidents’ or smells to linger in your home.
Pet urine contains bacteria which not only results in unpleasant odours, but can also cause health issues. Even if there isn’t a strong odour, this bacteria can remain present in an inert form for long periods of time, however can easily become reactivated when moisture is present. External weather conditions such as rain or humidity can create the conditions in which bacteria will thrive in your carpet.
To ensure your carpets aren’t harbouring these nasties, it’s essential to either remove or neutralise the urine. Removing it completely may involve lifting of underlay. Alternatively, we use specialised chemicals that bond with the urine, which once dry, results in the creation of harmless salt crystals, which can then be removed through the normal carpet cleaning process. This form of treatment will stop any odour from past stains recurring.
For homes that have pets inside on a regular basis, we recommend having your carpets cleaned every 6 months to keep your home clean and fresh.
