WATER EXTRACTION & DRYING
DO YOU HAVE WET CARPET?
Wet carpet if left to dry on its own can cause serious health issues. If a smell is present once the carpet has dried, then it’s likely that mould has already formed. Even if there is no odour, or you can’t see a stain, it’s quite common for mould to have formed underneath the carpet. That’s why wet carpet needs to be dealt with as quickly as possible.
First, we ensure that all excess moisture is removed. Then we’ll inspect the area to determine if any water has penetrated through to the underlay. If not, we’ll strategically place specialised blowers to ensure the carpet is completely dried, before the final cleaning process. If the underlay has also been affected, it may need to be removed and dried externally. Once this has been done, we will refit the underlay, and complete the cleaning process.
Depending on the colour of the carpet, you may also notice a browning effect around the edges of the wet area once it has dried. This will also be treated and removed as part of the final cleaning process.
We recommend any carpet which has been soaked is treated as soon as possible. Nyrie Roos
